Jerry Seinfeld once said that his secret to productivity was writing one joke per day, putting a big X on the day in his calendar and then doing that every day, so as not to “break the chain.”
I’ve been using this life changing app called Productive to do the same. Every day I have to do 7 habits. The trick to doing this with a job and a little one is that I swipe off the goals if I even touch them.

A few moments after my son was born recently, I had what David Allen calls BFO, a Blinding Flash of Obvious. This is a term used to describe thoughts that are obvious in hindsight but kind of revelatory in the present. BFOs are how most of the best fiction and comedy are written.
My BFO: many people are born every day, and many die every day.
Sometimes, I miss MP3.com. It was one of the first services ever that allowed amateur musicians to just upload Mp3s of their homemade recordings and even order custom CDs with artwork and everything. It wasn’t super fancy, but man, it was cool back in 1999.
There was this quick-release attitude with musicians on the site. You’d have to check back every now and then with your favorite bands to see if there was new music.

Have you ever seen a bumper sticker while driving that either enrages you or makes you fist bump your steering wheel?
Have you ever wondered who sits in that car and what they do with their days?
I have. It’s kind of a hobby. It’s fascinating to me as a storyteller because those bumper stickers are a representation how that particular driver wishes to tell their story.
