I was explaining Venmo/Cash transfer apps to a person who is firmly part of the generation above me.
“So you can see people’s transactions?” he asked me, wide-eyed.
“Yeah, but you can’t see how much the transaction was,” I told him.
“So what’s the point?” he asked.
What is the point? For years, PayPal allowed people to transfer money to each other. Why did Venmo and Cash become everyone’s first choice over PayPal?
Lists should be a part of every person’s toolset, when trying to solve a problem.
It’s not just to-do or task lists. Any set of items that are woven together by a common thread counts.
Occasionally, it helps to forget about the to-do list and create a “to-done” list. Instead of writing down what you need to do, you write done what you’ve already done that was successful.
I use this with my newborn (who is almost out of newborn status).
I’m certain that I’ll see sunlight when daybreak hits, even if it’s filtered through clouds. This makes me feel safe.
I’m uncertain whether or not my presentation will go well. This makes me feel tense.
I’m certain that in one hour, it will be 9:43. It would completely and absolutely surreal if this didn’t happen. Safe.
I’m uncertain that I’ll be on time for my flight because of the traffic. Tense.
I was sitting in the car recently and I decided to sort of press my palm against the outside of my knee. My leg has this tendency to flail out toward the car door when I’m driving, and I felt the inexplicable need to hold it straight so my leg was straight for a while.
Think this: |/ vs this | | |
When I did this at first, I used my muscles to hold my leg in place, which was unnecessary since I was using my hand/arm muscles to do that for me.
+++ title = “12” date = 2018 +++
There are two kinds of holidays per recognized major US holiday. One for kids and the one for adults. They occur on the same date but are expressed in different ways.
As a child, we enjoy the magic of each holiday. There’s a certain buzz in the air and school is often cooling down for the semester or quarter. Lots of indoor activities, and lots of sugar.
